Go Raw LLC has announced an expansion of its voluntary recall of Quest Cat Food Chicken Recipe Frozen products due to low levels of thiamine (Vitamin B1). This recall affects specific lots of the product, which may pose a health risk to cats.

Affected Products:

  • Quest Cat Food Chicken Recipe Frozen Diet, 2 lb. Bag, Lot MCD25350, UPC 6-91730-17104-9, Best Buy Date: 6/16/2027
  • Quest Cat Food Chicken Recipe Frozen Diet, 2 lb. Bag, Lot MCC25321, UPC 6-91730-17104-9, Best Buy Date: 5/17/2027

These products are sold in beige, zip-lock bags with a purple stripe and were distributed nationwide.

Reason for Recall:

The recall was initiated due to potentially low levels of thiamine, an essential vitamin for cats. A deficiency in thiamine can lead to serious health issues, including gastrointestinal and neurological symptoms.

Health Risks:

Cats with thiamine deficiency may show signs such as decreased appetite, salivation, vomiting, and weight loss. Severe cases can lead to neurological signs like vision changes, wobbly walking, and seizures. Immediate veterinary care is advised if symptoms are observed.

Consumer Action:

Consumers should stop feeding the recalled products to their cats and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or replacement. Replacement inventory is expected to be available by mid-March.
