Fayus Inc., operating as Yusol International Foods, has expanded its recall of Ola-Ola Pounded Yam due to the presence of an undeclared milk allergen, sodium caseinate. This recall affects product sizes 2lbs, 4lbs, 5lbs, and 10lbs, packaged in clear plastic bags.

The recall was initiated after an internal investigation revealed that some packages were distributed without proper allergen labeling. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency confirmed the omission in the 4lb and 10lb products, prompting the recall expansion. The affected products have expiration dates between November 2028 and May 2029 and were distributed in Canada, Australia, and several U.S. states including California, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, and Texas.

Consumers with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity should not consume these products, as they risk a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction. No illnesses have been reported so far.

Consumers are advised to check the expiration dates and allergen labeling on the packaging. Affected products can be exchanged at distribution outlets for correctly labeled packages. For more information, consumers can contact Fayus Inc. at [email protected] or call 916-383-1124, Monday through Friday, 11am to 3pm PST.
