Kayem Foods Recalls RTE Meat and Poultry for Temperature Abuse
Class I Recall — Most Serious
This is a Class I recall — the most serious type. Products covered by this recall may cause serious health consequences or death.
Kayem Foods Inc. is recalling over 1.5 million pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry products due to potential temperature abuse during storage. This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The affected products were produced between March 31, 2026, and October 7, 2026. They bear the establishment numbers “EST. M/P 7839,” “EST. P 20935A,” and “EST. M 9520” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were distributed to retail and foodservice locations nationwide and in Hong Kong.
The issue was identified following a customer complaint about warm product temperatures at delivery. An investigation revealed that the products were stored in a cooler that experienced temperature deviations.
Consumers are advised not to consume these products. They should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase. Although no illnesses have been reported, anyone concerned about health effects should contact a healthcare provider.
