Nara Organics has issued a voluntary recall of all lots of its powdered infant formula due to a potential botulism contamination risk. This precautionary measure follows reports of three infants developing botulism after consuming the formula.
Affected Products:
- Nara Organics Whole Milk Infant Formula, 700g, UPC 860013251901
- Nara Organics Whole Milk Infant Formula, 400g, UPC 860013251918
These products were distributed nationwide through Target stores, Target.com, and Nara.com between July 2025 and June 2026. All lots currently on the market are included in this recall.
Reason for Recall:
The recall is due to a potential contamination with Clostridium botulinum, which can cause infant botulism, a rare but serious illness. Symptoms may include constipation, poor feeding, drooping eyelids, weak crying, and respiratory difficulties. Although no formula has tested positive for the bacteria, the recall is being conducted out of an abundance of caution.
What Consumers Should Do:
- Stop using the affected products immediately.
- If your child shows symptoms of botulism, seek medical attention promptly.
- For refunds, consumers who purchased from Nara's website will be automatically refunded. Others can request a refund by submitting a photo of the product's bottom and completing a form on Nara's website.
- Target customers can return the product to any Target store or follow online return instructions.
For more information or to report an illness, consumers can contact Nara Organics at [email protected] or visit their website. This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
