Frozen Shrimp Recalled for Radioactive Contamination Risk

Direct Source Seafood LLC has announced a recall of frozen raw shrimp due to potential contamination with cesium-137, a radioactive substance. This recall affects shrimp sold under the Market 32 and Waterfront Bistro brands.
Affected Products:
- Market 32 brand, 1-lb bags, UPC: 0 4173501358 3, Best By Dates: 04/22/27, 04/23/27, 04/24/27, 04/26/27, 04/27/27, sold in CT, MA, NH, NY, PA, and VT after July 11, 2025.
- Waterfront Bistro brand, 2-lb bags, UPC: 02113013224-9, Best By Dates: APR 25, 2027, APR 26, 2027, sold in CO, IA, ID, IL, IN, MT, ND, NV, OR, UT, and WY on or after June 30, 2025.
Reason for Recall:
The shrimp may have been exposed to cesium-137 during processing in Indonesia. While no contaminated products have been confirmed in the U.S. market, cesium-137 exposure can increase cancer risk over time.
Consumer Action:
