The a2 Milk Company has issued a recall for certain batches of its a2 Platinum Premium infant formula due to the presence of cereulide toxin. This product, intended for infants aged 0-12 months, is sold under the USA label.

The batch numbers and expiration dates can be found on the bottom of each tin. These products were distributed nationally via a2MC's website, Amazon, and Meijer stores.
Reason for Recall:
The recall was initiated after testing revealed the presence of cereulide, a heat-stable toxin produced by some strains of the bacterium Bacillus cereus. Consuming food contaminated with this toxin can cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, which typically resolve within 24 hours. Infants are particularly vulnerable due to their developing immune systems and may require medical care if symptoms occur.
Consumer Guidance:
Consumers who have purchased the affected product should stop using it immediately and either dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. If your infant exhibits symptoms such as nausea or vomiting, contact your healthcare provider promptly. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.
