Revival Animal Health Recalls Canine Milk Replacers for Vitamin D Issues

Revival Animal Health is recalling specific canine milk replacers due to variable levels of Vitamin D, which can be harmful to dogs. The recall affects Breeder’s Edge® Foster Care® Canine, Shelter’s Choice® Canine Milk Replacers, and Breeder’s Edge® Foster Care® GM (goat milk) products.

Affected Products:

• Breeder's Edge Foster Care GM Milk Replacer (1 lb and 5 lb) - UPC: 817160010080, 817160010097
• Shelter's Choice Canine Milk Replacer (1 lb, 3.5 lb, and 8 lb) - UPC: 817160011087, 817160011070, 817160011056
• Breeder's Edge Foster Care Canine Milk Replacer (12 oz, 18 lb, 20 lb, and 4.5 lb) - UPC: 817160010189, 817160011025, 817160010172, 817160010073

Reason for Recall: The products contain either low or elevated levels of Vitamin D. Elevated levels can cause symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy, while low levels may lead to bone deformities and rickets in puppies. Two cases of rickets have been reported.

Consumer Action: Consumers should stop using the affected products immediately and contact Revival Animal Health for a full refund at 1-877-870-4059 (M-F 8 am-4 pm CDT). If your dog shows symptoms, consult a veterinarian.

This recall is conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Products were sold nationwide online and in retail pet stores.
