Whole Foods Market has issued a recall for select salsas, guacamole, pico de gallo, and other prepared foods due to potential Salmonella contamination. This recall is linked to jalapeños sourced from Coast Citrus Distributors, which are part of a multistate outbreak currently under investigation.
Products Affected:
- Various guacamole dips, pico de gallo, and salsas sold in TX, OK, LA, AR, WI, MI, IL, IN, IA, MO, KY, and OH.
- Best Before/By dates range from 8/7/2026 to 8/16/2026.
Reason for Recall:
The recall was initiated due to the risk of Salmonella contamination from jalapeños supplied by a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico. Salmonella can cause serious infections, especially in young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
Consumer Guidance:
Customers are advised not to consume the recalled products. They should discard them or return them to any Whole Foods Market store for a full refund.
