Sobico USA Recalls Frozen Fish Due to Import Inspection Issue

Sobico USA LLC is recalling over 13,000 pounds of frozen Siluriformes fish imported from Vietnam without proper inspection. This recall affects both whole/gutted and steak versions of the fish.

Products Affected:

• 36-lb. cases of vacuum-packed “Shera BROADHEAD CLARIAS FISH WHOLE/GUTTED” (10-18 oz each)
• 36-lb. cases of vacuum-packed “Shera BROADHEAD CLARIAS FISH STEAKS” (1.8 lbs per package)

These products bear Vietnam Establishment No: DL 811 and have a best before date of June 23, 2027. They were distributed to wholesalers and retailers in Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, New York, and Ohio.

Reason for Recall:

The recall was initiated after Sobico USA discovered the fish had not undergone the required import reinspection. This oversight was identified through a review of FSIS import requirements.

Consumer Guidance:

Consumers are advised not to consume these products. They should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase. No illnesses have been reported, but those with health concerns should contact a healthcare provider.
