Snack Mixes Recalled for Potential Salmonella Risk

John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of several snack mix products due to potential contamination with Salmonella. The recall is a precautionary measure following the use of a seasoning containing dry milk powder that was recalled by another supplier.

Reason for Recall: The recall was initiated due to the potential presence of Salmonella in the seasoning used in these products. Although the seasoning batches tested negative for Salmonella prior to use, the recall is being conducted as a precaution.

Consumer Guidance: Consumers are advised not to consume the recalled products. They should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or replacement. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Health Risks: Salmonella can cause serious infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
