Navitas Organics is recalling certain lots of its 8oz Organic Chia Seeds due to potential Salmonella contamination. This precautionary recall follows an alert from the company's chia seed supplier.

- Lot Codes: W31025283, W31025286, W31025287, W31025311, W31025314, W31025315, W31025316, W31025317
- Best If Used By: End APR 2027 and End MAY 2027
The affected products were sold nationwide in stores like Whole Foods Market and Target, and online through Amazon, iHerb, and Vitacost.com.
Reason for Recall:
The recall is due to the risk of Salmonella, which can cause serious infections, especially in young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
Consumer Action:
Consumers should not consume the recalled chia seeds. Instead, they should open the bag, discard the seeds, and dispose of the packaging. For a refund, return the product to the place of purchase.
