Krasnyi Oktyabr Inc. has issued a voluntary recall for its Starfish Seafood Trio, which includes cold smoked salmon, halibut, and trout, due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. This organism can lead to serious infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. While healthy individuals may experience mild symptoms, Listeria can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.

The affected product, packaged in 8 oz (227 g) vacuum-sealed plastic packages, was distributed in New York, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The specific lot number is D139149161-153, with an expiration date of 12/01/2027, and the country of origin is Latvia.

This recall follows an identification of potential contamination by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. No illnesses have been reported to date. Krasnyi Oktyabr Inc. is working with the FDA and the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets to manage the recall.
