Class I Recall — Most Serious

This is a Class I recall — the most serious type. Products covered by this recall may cause serious health consequences or death.

Top Label: Publix Rice & Pigeon Peas Net Wt 32 oz (2 lb) Incorrect Bottom Label: Three Cheese Mac & Cheese

A.S.K. Foods, LLC has announced a recall of certain 32 oz. containers of Publix Rice & Pigeon Peas due to undeclared soy. This recall is important for individuals with soy allergies, as consuming the product could lead to serious or life-threatening allergic reactions.

Products Affected:

  • Publix Rice & Pigeon Peas, sold in 32 oz. plastic trays.
  • Available exclusively at Publix stores in Florida.
  • Look for a top label indicating Publix Rice & Pigeon Peas, with a bottom label starting with CAVATAPPI PASTA and a lid code of “5387-4”, “5387-5” or “5387-6”.

Reason for Recall:

The recall was issued because the packaging mistakenly includes an ingredient statement for Three Cheese Mac & Cheese, which does not list soy. Soy is present in the Rice & Pigeon Peas, posing a risk to those with soy allergies.

What Consumers Should Do:

  • Do not consume the product if you have a soy allergy.
  • Return the product to the store for a full refund.
  • Contact A.S.K. Foods, LLC at (717) 838-6356 x 132 for more information, available Monday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST.

No illnesses have been reported so far. Consumers are urged to check their purchases and take appropriate action to ensure their safety.
