Prince Bakery Recalls Breads for Undeclared Milk and Sesame

Prince Bakery Inc., based in Bronx, New York, has issued a recall for several of its bread products due to undeclared milk and sesame allergens. This recall is a precautionary measure to prevent serious or life-threatening allergic reactions in individuals sensitive to these ingredients.

The affected products include:

• Prince Pan de Manteca Spanish Style Bread, Net Wt. 8 oz (227g), packaged in blue, yellow, and green bags
• Prince Sesame Italian Bread Large, Net Wt. 12 oz (340g), packaged in green and yellow bags
• Prince Sesame French Bread Large, Net Wt. 12 oz (340g), packaged in green and yellow bags
• Prince Sesame Italian Bread, Net Wt. 8 oz (227g), packaged in red and yellow bags
• Prince Sesame Long French Bread, Net Wt. 10 oz (284g), packaged in red and yellow bags

These products were distributed in bodegas and small retail markets around Bronx and Westchester, New York. Each item has a shelf life of 3 to 5 days but may be frozen.

The recall was initiated following a routine inspection that revealed the Spanish Style bread contained whey milk not listed in the “Contains” statement. Additionally, the Italian and French breads did not declare sesame as an ingredient. This issue arose from a temporary breakdown in production and packaging processes.
